Samsung HMX-H100 full-HD camcorder
Ubergizmo announced Samsung's HMX-H100 camcorder as below.
This is the entry level model from the new Samsung H-series camcorders, unlike the other 3 models it does not have an internal SSD but requires a SD/SDHC card. Thanks to the H.264 compression, users can record up to six hours of full HD video on a 32 GB SDHC card, since on average people record only 30 min of video each time, this less expensive model is a good choice for the regular users.
The Schneider Kreuznach lens features a 10x optical zoom with the new Samsung Optical Image Stabilizer and offers a 37 mm wide-angle focal unlike most of the camcorders available on the market (typically 40-50 mm). Other features include HDMI connections to watch full HD video on a HDTV, a 2.7" swiveling TFT LCD screen and a HD time lapse recording mode, that allows to record each image with a pre-selected time interval.

Samsung Unveils First Camcorders With Solid-State Drives

The camcorders feature a 2.2-megapixel CMOS imaging sensor, a 10x optical zoom, and a Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD lens.
Samsung on Wednesday introduced five high-definition camcorders, three of them the company claims are the first to use internal solid-state drives.
The camcorders, introduced at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, include the HMX-H106, HMX-H105, and HMX-H104, which have storage capacities of 64 GB, 32 GB, and 16 GB, respectively. In terms of recording times, the largest drive holds 12 hours of high-definition video, the middle drive six hours, and the smallest device three hours.
Samsung said its SSDs offer several advantages over hard-disk drives, which are typically used in camcorders with capacities of 32 GB and 64 GB. SSD are lighter, smaller and have no moving parts, which makes them quieter and more reliable, the company said.
In addition, the SSDs use one-eighth of the power of a compatible HDD and are more resistant to shock and vibrations, Samsung said. They also have faster read/write speeds and boot up quicker.
Each of the camcorders features a 2.2-megapixel CMOS imaging sensor, a 10x optical zoom, and a Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD lens. The products also include image stabilization technology to help counteract shaky video and blurring. The devices also can take 4.7-megapixel digital still photos.
Samsung introduced two HD camcorders that require the use of separate memory cards, the HMX-H100 and the HMX-R10. The latter device can also take 9 megapixel still photos and has a 5x optical zoom and a swiveling 2.7-inch touch-screen LCD.
In addition, Samsung unveiled its second-generation compact camcorder that can record in the format and resolution required by YouTube, resulting in faster upload times to the online video network. The SMX-F34 differs from the previous generation in that it can also take digital still photos. The new product has 16-GB of flash memory for storing up to eight hours of standard-definition video.
Prices for the new products weren't disclosed. The HMX-H106 is scheduled to be available in April, the HMX-H105, -H104 and -H100 in March; the HMX-R10 in the summer and the SMX-F34 in the spring.

Samsung Electronics has unveiled six new digital camcorders at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It has five new full-HD models called HMX-H100, HMX-H104, HMX-H105, HMX-H106,HMX-R10 and the SMX-F34 - a YouTube compatible compact digital camcorder. Samsung’s new H-Series of full-HD digital camcorders (HMX-H100, HMX-H104, HMX-H105, HMX-H106) has been announced. The HMX-H106, Samsung’s new flagship full-HD digital camcorder, is “the world’s first to feature an internal 64GB SSD, which the company is also conveniently announcing here.
The company says its SSD technology is faster than HDD, including quicker boot-up and read/write speeds which is required for the amount of data recorded in full-HD resolution: when actively reading and writing data, approx. 1/8th of the power of a comparablThe HMX-H105 and HMX-H104 offer 32GB and 16GB SSDs, respectively, and like the flagship H106, also allow for memory expansion using an SD/SDHC memory card.
The HMX H100 does not feature the SSD and requires an SD/SDHC memory card.

It features a memory card slot for SD/SDHC and 16GB of internal flash memory, and thanks to H.264 compression, is able to record up to eight hours of SD video with the 16GB built-in memory.
The SMX-F34 offers a CCD sensor that delivers a resolution of 720×480, and features a Web & Mobile shooting mode for YouTube and the like. The ability to capture digital still photos separates the SMX-F34 from the company’s current SC-MX20, with a dedicated Photo mode to allow the capture of 800×600 resolution images.
The SMX-F34 will be available in four colors: black, silver, red and blue, all trimmed in silver and touting a swivel hand-grip. It will be available spring 2009.
