2View Class – How to Set the Smart Filter

Following is a review of the 2Vide camera, ST100.

Hi! This is Soyoung again!
My last posting was on Child Mode. Today, I will go over the Smart Filter function on the 2View camera.
What is a Smart Filter? It is a function embedded in the camera allowing users to create a variety of interesting pictures without having to use editing programs such as Photoshop. It is highly popular among users as it adds a unique touch to the photo with simple manipulation. Let’s take a closer look.
First, setting the Smart Filter for the ST600 or ST100:
Shooting Mode>
1. Click on Menu at shooting mode
2. Set Smart Filter
3. Select one out of Fish Eye, Vignetting, DeFog, Sketch, and Miniature
Display Mode>

1. Touch the ‘E’ on the left side of the photo you want to add the effect to
2. Set Smart Filter
3. Select one out of Fish Eye, Vignetting, DeFog, Sketch, and Miniature
Now, let’s see how the photos look and feel with the different settings!
1. Fish Eye: Ultra Wide Lens Effect

Fish Eye literally makes the photos appear as if a fish were looking at it, or as if it was viewed through a magnifying glass. The contortion is more pronounced for Fish Eye 2 than Fish Eye 1.

Apply this effect to yourself or to the faces of your friends to get a very funny image as if in a caricature! Applying the effect to landscape mode or a still object gives it an unrealistic feel to the photo due to the distortion.

2. Vignetting: Lomo Camera Effect

Vignetting is helpful if you want to maximize the compositional contrast. It is similar to the effect that lomo camera gives which darkens the outer edges of the photo to make the center object stand out, giving a vintage and remote feeling to the photo.

Use the Vignetting effect on photos of small and cozy cafes or an exhibition center. The space will look much warmer. Vignetting a portrait makes the output look much more sophisticated.

3. Miniature: Tilt&Shift Lens Effect

The Miniature effect literally makes the object appear downscaled. With this function, the upper and lower parts of the photo are blurred giving it an out-of-focus effect while only leaving the center clear. This function is effective at creating a dream-like feel and the best way to turn an ordinary photo into a more emotional photo.

Try applying this effect on small and cute objects!

4. Sketch: Pencil Drawing

Sketch effect makes the object appear as if it were pencil drawn dessin. With this effect, you can turn a color photo into a black and white image making it look as if it was drawn with a pencil. The movement of the thin pencil strokes will be so vivid that it you will mistake it by thinking it was happening right in front of your eyes!

Ever felt frustrated by your poor drawing skills? If so, use the 2View Smart Filter’s Sketch effect for quick images of fabulous landscapes, portraits, and still objects! You can instantly become a professional for pencil drawing. One other tip: apply the effect to a blurry photo. A typical messed up photo can instantly change into an abstract art.

5. DeFog: CPL Filter Effect

The CPL filter allows only one of the many lights that come in through the lens from various angles to pass through. It also eliminates light reflected from glass and water surface to produce a photo with higher saturation and contrast. The CPL filter effect, or fog effect, helps to make foggy image appear clear and reinforces the contrast effect to make the object stand out. Use this filter to capture images of raindrops on glass, fog-covered mountains, fields, and cloudy skies. You will be able to capture clear and vivid photos that touch our hearts.

With the 2View Smart Filter, you can enjoy five different effects with one photo. Now it’s clear why the camera is called ‘smart.’

Photo storage speed is much faster when set at a basic function, but the Smart Filter is a great way to decorate your memory.

Next time, I will go over other tips for the 2View.

Until then, bye!
