Now, It has been almost two months that I settled down in “Dakar”, the capital of Senegal. I have got a lot of works since I’m engaged in several projects for the self-sustenance of African local markets. It is true that I have drived hard myself up to recently. So, last weekend, I proposed to my companion to go to the downtown for a change. That was our first recreation for a long time. Dakar that we discovered that day was truly fascinating. We were absorbed in its senses and flavors melted in a placidity of a weekend.

Dakar, extremitely between the Atlantic ocean and a remarkable influence of Sahara desert, is a city that strongly brings up the image of Paris somehow. This is of course the very middle of an African city, but the styles and charms we can find here are maybe even more romantic than in Europe. While accrossing main streets, the square park and market places, I felt a kind of tenderness that aroused me a puerile sensibility. Sometimes, I have an illusion of being in a camping place for a summer vacation when I walk across streets in Dakar covered with sands from the Sahara.

At the evening, we were invited in friends’ house, of which the balcony was opened to a beautiful seaside view. The seascape was gorgeous with some big sea birds crossing the dusk. The view of red roofed villas and outer highway standed on the seasight were pretty tasteful.

The city takes on red colors inclining to desert when the sun lays down. That’s just the best moment to appreciate a cup of strong coffee in a full presence of mind.
