Samsung has ditched hard drives from its top of the range camcorder with style, squeezing 64GB of solid state memory inside its new HMX-H106. It makes the video camera small, light and incredibly robust.
The new technology also keeps the camcorder cool, and eliminates noise, so sound recorded through the on board microphone is distortion free and crystal clear.
Using solid state storage also makes the camcorder switch on and off faster, and makes the battery last longer, since it uses an eighth of the power sucked up by traditional hard drives.
There’s also 10x optical zoom, and a high-quality Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD lens.
