WB650(HZ35W) has fully considered its mobility

Here is a long review of Samsung WB650 digital camera.

Just a few years ago, there was ‘image quality’ on the main copy of every digital camera. However, looking at recent cameras, they rather focus on design, specification and unique functions than image quality. (Image quality of almost all digital cameras has become higher, so the quality doesn’t mean a lot any more. Now, it seems that people buy a camera by looking at unique functions and performance.)

The Samsung WB650(HZ35W) which I’m reviewing has a lot of its unique functions unlike other digital cameras such as manual function, 24mm wide angle, 15x optical zoom, GPS, and so on.

WB series is the highest level among Samsung digital cameras, so I think there are a lot of things to look at. Let’s take a look at them one by one through the review.

It’s the full kit and various accessories are provided. Body, Power adapter, USB cable, Battery, Hand strap, Quick manual, Warranty, and S/W CD (User Manual) are provided.

It has 106.6 x 60.5 x 28 mm of size and 214.6g of weight. It’s a little bigger and heavier than other compact digital cameras only for mobility. (However, the performance and quality are incomparable. Different from normal high-end digital camera with protruding lens, it can fit in a pocket, since its lens is not protruded. I think it has quite good mobility.)

The design of this product is more elegant and heavier than ST and PL series which are stylish and cute. It comes with black and silver and the design points made of mirror material at the edge is also impressive. (It’s a little less elegant, but looks high level design, I think.)

It’s the front and 15x optical zoom protruding lens is shown. It supports 24mm ultra wide angle and 360mm telephoto shooting on 35mm, so users can take shots with any angles under any circumstances. (It’s a distinguishable point from a compact camera. Compared to DSLRs, it has a merit, I think.)

On the center at the top, flash and AF assist light/Self timer lamp are located and on the side of the lens, a speaker is also installed. Unlike other compact cameras with poor grip, it has some curve line on the grip for better grip.
