Article: Samsung HMX-C10/C14 Digital Camcorder

Samsung has pulled the wrappers off a pair of gorgeous new standard def camcorders, both taking their design cues from the recently-debuted full HD HMX-R10. The Samsung SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 share the shape and angled-up lens of the HMX-R10, but instead of a brushed metal finish they come sporting the same black/red “crystal rose” shell seen on many of Samsung’s flat screen TVs.
What’s the difference between the two models? Well, as far as we can tell from Samsung’s press release (here on BusinessWire), the SMX-C14 comes with 16GB of built-in memory (enough for six hours of features), and can be expanded further through its SD/SDHC card slot. The SMX-C10 comes only with the card slot and no internal memory.
Both models feature batteries delivering over two hours and forty minutes of recording time per charge, as well as direct-to-YouTube uploading function (you’ll need a computer too, natch). 2.7-inch flip-out LCD screens are included on both models too.
Samsung says both the SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 will hit the US in July, and we’d guess that they’ll launch here at around the same time. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
